Whether you are preparing for a leadership move or already in it and finding certain dynamics difficult, there is a format suited to your situation.
Individual coaching for the first leadership transition
Think of a professional who has been asked to step up into a team lead position for the first time. They are technically strong, well-regarded by peers, and genuinely motivated. But within their first month they notice something: the meetings where real decisions happen seem to follow a set of rules they were never given.
This program is designed for exactly that situation. Over eight individual coaching sessions, we work through the specific informal dynamics you are encountering and build a set of practical tools for navigating them.
Sessions cover the informal power map of your organisation, how to build the right relationships before you need them, how to frame contributions in meetings so they register with decision-makers, and how to hold your position constructively when challenged. Each session is grounded in your actual current situation, not hypothetical examples.
Between sessions, we set focused practice tasks — small, specific things to try in your real environment. The debrief of those experiences often produces the most useful coaching material.
Small group coaching for peer-level learning
There is something that individual coaching cannot fully replicate: the experience of navigating influence dynamics within a group of peers who are working through similar challenges. A cohort of five or six professionals at a comparable transition point creates exactly that environment.
The Leadership Transition Cohort combines structured coaching sessions with peer-to-peer exchange. Each participant brings real situations from their own working environment. These become the material the group works with. You will recognise dynamics from your own experience in someone else's story, and the distance that provides often produces clarity that individual reflection cannot.
Cohort sessions run fortnightly over twelve weeks. Individual check-in sessions are built in between group meetings, allowing for work on situations that are too specific or sensitive to explore in a group setting.
Places in each cohort are limited to keep the group small enough for genuine engagement. We run new cohorts when there is sufficient interest among professionals at a compatible stage.
A single intensive session for a specific challenge
Sometimes the need is immediate and specific. A senior presentation is coming up and you need to think through how to handle the room. A difficult stakeholder relationship is affecting a project's progress. An important committee meeting is approaching and you want to prepare how to land a particular point.
The Targeted Skills Session is a single two-hour engagement focused entirely on one clearly defined challenge. We spend the first part understanding the situation in depth — the players involved, the dynamics at work, what you are trying to achieve. The second part is practical preparation: working through how to approach the situation, what to say and when, and how to handle the likely responses.
This is not a consultation in the advisory sense. We do not tell you what to do. We help you think through the dynamics with rigour and develop your own clear approach. The session is available at short notice subject to diary availability.
The Influence Foundations Program provides the most structured preparation for a first-time transition, with enough sessions to build and practise new approaches across different situations.
Influence FoundationsThe Cohort program works well for professionals who benefit from shared experience and want to develop their thinking through dialogue with others in a similar position.
Leadership CohortWhen the need is concrete and time-sensitive, the Targeted Skills Session delivers focused preparation for the specific situation in front of you.
